The COMFORTING BEAR was born when I was asked by a friend to make some bears out of her late husband’s beautiful black and red plaid robe. We made three bears. Each one had a red heart with his name embroidered on it.
Word passed and, soon, I was making bears out of all types of clothing from fishing shirts to dad’s favorite robe to grandma’s favorite blouse. The bears were filling the lives of people who had lost loved ones with comfort as they held and squeezed their new bears.
